Language House helps language tutors find private students in their local area. Advertising extensively through Google AdWords and on sites such as Craigslist, Gumtree and Vivastreet generates a considerable volume of enquiries from potential students.
The most popular languages are ESOL, Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin, German, Russian and Polish although we also often receive requests for the following languages:
Portuguese, Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
Each time a tutor goes on to teach a student that has been provided by Language House, the tutor must pay a finder's fee. The finder's fee varies from country to country as indicated in the table below.
The finder's fee is paid once the student has completed the first four hours of tuition. This fee is only paid once for each student or group of students, not after every four hours.
If the student cancels classes before having completed four hours there is no finder’s fee to pay.

Tutors are free to set their own hourly rate and students pay the tutor directly, generally after each class.
